We had a very wet day at Osberton International yesterday. Group 1 had an outing to support Top Totty's first born son Top Gun and Matilda's first first born son John Wayne in the Lycetts BE 4 y/o Championships. Horses brilliant - weather horrible, the students deserve a medal for their high spirits in these circumstances! After Dressage and SJ owner/rider Stella Baylis withdrew Top Gun from the XC as he is less experienced in these conditions than John Wayne. The latter did very well and ended 16th of 37 completing.

Rose G's and Bernwode Benedict's son Hartpury Rockstar was shown at futurity as a Sport Pony Eventer. He behaved like a rockstar; did neither walk nor trot properly, visibly exited(!) to see all other horses and dreaming he was a big boy running after girls. So a slight disappointment for his scores for walk/trot. He did however canter a lot which gave him 18 of 20 possible for canter/athleticism and 8 for attitude! He certainly will have an exciting future ahead. The nutritionist gave him 5 which is the best of the body scoring with comments: excellent!
