Take It 2 The Limit was hand picked in France 2004 for Hartpury College by Olympic Gold medallist Leslie Law who trained and lightly competed him during 2005 with great success. They crowned the season with Take It 2 The Limit being placed fourth in the final of the Winergy Burghley Young Event Horse and third in the final of the PAVO British Breeding Championships.

Olympic Rider Jeanette Brakewell took over the education of the promising young Stallion from Leslie in 2006, and the partnership worked very well. Highlights 2006 include being placed at the CCI* at the Mitsubishi Motors Hartpury Three Day Event and winning at Purston Manor. In 2007 the team had great success coming third at Houghton Int'l CCI** and ending the season with victory at Burnham Market.

In the 2008 season Take It 2 The Limit and Jeanette had continued success. The highlights are the 6th place at Tattersalls ** (3rd best British), 3rd place at Brigstock International AI and 3rd place at Belton Park International. Take It 2 The Limit ended this season with 110 BE points - only eight years old!

In 2009 Take It 2 the Limit stepped up to Advanced level and jumped double C/R in at three events. He faced his biggest challenge so far at Boekelo CCI*** where he did very well indeed, placing 17th out of 97 entries. In 2010 the top results was 3rd at Chatswoth ***, 2nd at Aston-Le-Walls and by far the best British horse.  Best placing in 2011 is 7th of 39 at Withington Manor. The season was cut short as the demand for him as a stallion increased and he came home to stand at stud. Take It 2 the Limit has jumped clear XC at every Advanced/*** event in his career!</b> He has currently (1/10) 297 BE points.

Take It 2 The Limit 's Sire, the promising Eventer  Gaub was owned by the National Stud of France and died unfortunately in his second breeding season. From the small 2000' crop he produced apart from TI2TL some top horses such as Advanced Eventer  Manoir the Carneville, who is exported to USA and listed for the USET development squad. His Sire of Gaub was the great Count Ivor xx, and his Dam Sahelle was by the famous Double Espoir; son of Ibrahim and sire of more than 20 approved sons.

Take It 2 The Limit 's Dam, Peseta De Sivola, was very fertile and produced a number of very good competition horses with different stallions. The most successful apart from Take It 2 The Limit are Chalouze de Sivola (Eventer by Altayan), Bec De Sivola (Eventing, SJ, by Tin Soldier), Intrigue De Sivola (SJ, Eventing, by Paritschou), Eole De Sivola (Show Jumper by Altayan) and Lazuli De Saillan (Eventing, SJ, by Rubloff).

In Take It 2 The Limit's pedigree one will find the stallion Joli Coeur who is the sire of Coup De Coeur who very successfully competed under Leslie Law. Joli Coeur's sire Rantzau xx is also the sire of one of the most important SJ sires in modern time; Cor de la Bryère.

Due to competitions Take It 2 The Limit has only been available for a small number of mares. The first crop of 5 registered  foals born in 2006 has excellent statistics with 60% of the crop competing:

John Wayne (out of a Krisinsky x Welton Apollo mare) won his first ODE just before end of 2009, went on to qualify for the BE 4y/o Championships 2010 where he ended 16th on a very soaked & muddy ground. As five year old John Wayne has been double C/R five out of six competitions, has one victory and placed 4, 6 and 8th.

Hartpury Top Gun (out of a Puissance x Duca di Busted, ISH mare) scored a very high 1st Premium Diploma (8.93) with 9.5 for athleticism, 9.25 for temperament and ended as the 5th best 3 y/o Eventer in the Futurity series 2009. Top Gun did his first XC competition at Stafford BE Horse trials 23/7 2010 where he placed 3rd. He qualified for the BE 4y/o Championships where he did well in Dressage and SJ but was withdrawn from the XC due to the ground conditions. As five year old Top Gun has been in the BYEH qualification finals twice with comments "Best canter of the day". His best results so far (1/10) is 6th in BE100 at Homne and Longleat.

Take It 2 The Limit's very first foal Hartpury Make It A Double (out of a Welton Crackerjack x Kalaglow mare) has started his competition career as five year old with so far (1/10) double C/R in 2 out of of 3 BE90 classes!

The second crop born 2007 includes 10 foals, two (20%) of them qualified and placed at the Lycetts BE Young horse Championships 2011!

Hartpury Sky Is The Limit (out of a Concorde x Zevenster KWPN mare) gained a Higher 1st Premium Diploma (8.97) as Show jumper at BEF Futurity, including 9's for frame, walk & attitude, 9,5 for trot! He had the highest score of all 3 year olds of the day and second highest score all ages, all disciplines. Sky ended as the Very Best Show Jumper of all 3 year olds evaluated in UK 2010! He competed for the first time at Brand Hall;  won and qualified for the Lycetts BE Young Horse Championships where he ended joint 7th!

Hartpury Take It 2 The Top has been in the final of BYEH qualifications twice and qualified for the BE YH Championships after a brilliant 2nd place at Homne. Take It 2 The Top ended 4th and 2nd Best British bred in the Lycetts BE Young Horse Championships!

Lil's Unlimited Lass (out of an AES mare by Gordios) missed the BYEH qualifications with one place at her first competition, this a lovely young mare that shows a lot of talent.

Hartpury Milady (full sister to Make It A Double) was High Score as 2 y/o Eventer at Futurity and is In-hand show winner. Her competition debut has been delayed by injuries from an accident and we look forward to see her competing 2012.

With just small crops Take It 2 The Limit has an outstanding record as a sire of competition horses. It is very clear that he stamps his progeny with excellent gaites, especially canter, and  brilliant technique, talent and attitude for Show Jumping and Eventing. Due to this success the College has decided to keep him at home to stand at stud.

Take It 2 The Limit has shown very good fertility ­ 90.9 % (2006), 87.5 % (2007) and 83.3 % (2008) of the mares inseminated with fresh semen conceived at the first attempt! He did not stand at stud 2009 as we decided to let him focus on his competition career. 90% of the mares bred 2010 conceived at first attempt and 2011 the fertility rate is 90.9%!
