Disposal of Farm Yard Manures and Slurries

Stored slurry is spread direct to field using either an umbilical system operated by a local contractor or via a vacuum tanker.  Solid manures are either spread direct to field or occasionally stored in field before spreading.  The College is exploring the feasibility of installing an anaerobic digester which would both reduce the risk factors associated with the storage of large quantities of slurry and provide combined green heat and power generation.
