Jemma Westgate selected for the Youth A European Championships

Jemma Westgate has just been selected for the Youth A European Championships taking place in Bulgaria from 18-23 July.  She achieved this by placing second overall in the National Youth Selection competitions.  So far this year, she has won the first selection competition before another win in the Youth International, both hosted at Hartpury.  Jemma was then selected to go to Barcelona where in a tough field she finished first British athlete, seventh place overall in the ladies competition.  Finishing third in the final selection has put her in the top three to gain automatic selection.

Prior to her going to Bulgaria for the Championships, she will attend three training camps held at the Academy with the other selected World Class Programme team members.

Hannah Wain also competed in the selection process.  Hannah performed well and is improving in competition due to the regular training at the Hartpury Academy.
