Former Hartpury student selected by English Golf Union for Finnish Amateur Championships

Former Hartpury College Golf student, Ben Loughrey, is one of three players to be selected to represent the English Golf Union (EGU) at the Finnish Amateur Championships in Finland on 11th-13th August.  It has been a year of progression for Loughrey having been selected for the England A Team squad following a successful 2009, in which he won the South West Colts Championship, the North of England Youth Championship and was runner-up in the South West Stroke Play Championship.

Loughrey has continued his consistent form this year by finishing runner-up in the Berkhamsted Trophy, third in the Irish Open Amateur and tied fourth in the Peruvian Amateur when representing the EGU. He also reached the last 16 of the English Amateur Championship at Little Ashton and represented the EGU at the 2010 European Amateur Championships in Finland.

He is currently in the top 20 on the English Amateur Order of Merit.
