Outdoor adventure day was a huge success

Hartpury Outdoor Adventure students recently hosted a multi activity adventure day for Year 5 pupils of Ashfield Park Primary School, Ross on Wye.

The activity day was set up as part of the PGL scheme. PGL is the UK’s leading provider of school trips and children’s adventure and educational trips.  The day took place at Court Farm, a converted stone farm building overlooking the River Wye in Herefordshire. Court Farm offers everything, from land activities at the centre to water activities at either a private canoe launch on the River Wye or the PGL Lake. The children experienced a number of activities including the challenge assault course, archery and rock climbing, providing a wonderful opportunity to try some new activities, learn new skills and most importantly have fun. It also provided the Hartpury students with valuable work experience for the teaching and instructing of outdoor activities and working with young people.

Ashfield Park pupils sent thank you letters to Hartpury students and staff with one summing up the day with, “I really enjoyed my visit, plus everyone from Hartpury College was amazingly kind and helpful they were always energetic and enthusiastic!”
