Academy Rowers selected for GB Junior Potential Camp

Two students from the Hartpury Rowing ‘Start’ Academy were selected to attend the GB Junior Potential Camp in Nottingham during October half term. The camp is for juniors considered to have potential for selection for the Great Britain junior rowing team next summer.

A level students Sarah Bonar and Lauren Williams travelled to the camp along with around 40-50 other aspiring GB junior athletes to take part in athletes coaching and education, with the opportunity to row alongside other high level junior rowers from around the country.

This camp leads into the first set of assessments for GB Junior selection, which take place this month. Prior to this all athletes have to submit a 2000m rowing machine test score, which must be below a set cut off to enable them to take part in a water based time-trial in November. Athletes who perform well at this trial will be invited to the next round of selection trials which take place in February.
