Hannah Wain wins Liverpool Open Epee Fencing Competition

Hannah Wain, a first year student at Hartpury and member of the Modern Pentathlon Academy, won the Liverpool Open Ladies Épée Fencing Competition last weekend.  In a field of more than one hundred competitors she cruised through the preliminaries, powering her way through to the knock out stages.

She had several close fights, but in the end came through to win the final by five clear points.  This is a fantastic achievement for Hannah and comes at a time when she is preparing for the national selection series of competitions aiming for selection for internationals next year.
