Overview
The Golf Academy is set up to provide players with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and golfing skills by offering regular coaching and playing time. There are three full-time PGA Professionals at Hartpury who provide the coaching and practice sessions take place around academic sessions, so that students are developing both their academic and golfing abilities.
The Golf Academy is split into two sections; Junior and Senior. The Junior section is for those students in further education and includes players aged 16-19 years, whilst the Seniors are made up of higher education students on degree or foundation degree programmes aged 18 years and upwards.
Please see the Junior and Senior sections of the website for further details on their structure.
All members of the Academy are enrolled on full time academic courses and benefit from the outstanding practice facilities at the College, which include an on-site undercover driving range, a 9-hole short game practice area, a USGA specification putting green and an all-weather Jack Nicklaus designed putting green. Coaching is also made easier by the help of the GASP video analysis system, as used on Sky Sports, and the new Golf Auto Score System that helps to analyse players’ rounds.
The College has recently become associated with Lilley Brook Golf Club and all Academy players will receive membership there. This membership entitles players to trial for the Men’s and Women’s teams at Lilley Brook and also enables them to play in club competitions, which means they can reduce their handicaps whilst at Hartpury.
