Familiarisation Course

The course is designed to support you as an international student coming to study in the UK, and specifically at Hartpury College and is open to all new international students regardless of country of origin, first language or, programme or subject of study.

The two week Familiarisation course helps you settle in to the UK and Hartpury by giving you an overview of the UK culture and local resources as well as a better understanding of the UK education system, Hartpury’s academic structure and assessment system and an introduction to the study skills you need to complete your study successfully at Hartpury.

You will meet with staff from your subject area, and if coming on to a ‘top-up’ degree programme you will be able to discuss what you have previously covered to help give you an idea of some areas of supportive reading for the start of your degree course. Within this two week course you will also be given a mock assignment which will be will be marked and you will be given feedback to help you prepare for the formal assessment you will come across in your foundation or honours degree programmes.
