The UK equine industry is worth over £3.8 billion per year, attracts 4.3 million riders and directly or indirectly employs up to a quarter of a million people.
Hartpury College has an outstanding international reputation for the quality of its equine courses. Theoretical teaching is combined with practical sessions using the extensive range of facilities available on campus. All courses offer a clear progression route, enabling you to gain further academic qualifications and ultimately improve your career choices.
What makes Hartpury College so special? We encourage all of our students to do more than study an academic course. Employers want to see applications full of additional skills and work experience. As a result we use our facilities and on-site practices, not only for formal learning, but also for work experience. We have a saying at Hartpury College – if you put a lot in, you get an awful lot back, and that is exactly what our best students do. They leave Hartpury with pride in themselves and their own abilities and an impressive CV.
All students are encouraged to take part in work experience at the Equine Therapy Centre and our outstanding Equine Centre. There is also the opportunity to undertake various short courses to enhance your CV further.
All of our courses are designed to provide clear progression, whether it enables you to go on to gain further academic qualifications, progress to university or to go straight into the world of work. Our students have successfully gained employment in a range of occupations including grooms, assistant yard managers, stud managers, riding instructors and equine business/sales.
