Army Preparation Level 1 and 2 NCFE Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services

THESE PROGRAMMES WILL NOT RUN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-13.  HOWEVER WE DO LOOK FORWARD TO ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR

The course:

This course has been designed specifically for those who want to join the British Army. The army’s selection test can be a challenging process designed to ensure you have the physical and mental skills that they can develop. This course will provide you with an added advantage when you go through the selection process and it will help you to prepare both physically and mentally to succeed in the entrance tests.

You will have the opportunity to work with experienced military and civilian instructors who will boost your knowledge of army life and you will also receive coaching from specialists in adventure training and competitive sports. The course will help you to develop your fitness, learn the skills you need in an army environment, work as part of a team, raise your self-confidence and make new friends.

Level 1 NCFE (Approx 17 weeks):

Investigating employment opportunities in the Uniformed Services, well-being and physical fitness, team working skills, developing self-discipline, carry out essential map reading and navigation, participate in competitive sports and participate in adventure activities.

Level 2 NCFE (Approx 17 weeks):

Investigate employment in the Uniformed Services, explore aspects of physical fitness, develop team working and problem solving skills, follow Uniformed Services routine, carry out map reading and navigation, participate in competitive sports, participate in adventurous activities and show an understanding of health and safety and hygiene.

Academic progression:

Successful completion of the course can lead to a career in the British Army (subject to passing the army selection process). Alternatively, you could progress on to other courses such as Uniformed Public Services, Outdoor Adventure or Sport, dependent on your achievement.
