Sport (Performance and Excellence in Golf) BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

The course:

Becoming a golf professional isn’t such an impossible dream as you might imagine and it’s a career you can continue until you retire. The industry has changed dramatically over the past 10 years, due to the launch of a government initiative that encouraged the development of 800 new golf clubs in the UK. Today there are over 3,000 clubs nationally and approximately6,000 professionals.

This Extended Diploma has been designed to provide you with the opportunity to improve your own golfing skills and performance while gaining knowledge and an understanding of the world of elite golfers. You will investigate the techniques used to identify talent and analyse the performances of world-class golfers utilising these techniques. The principles of coaching, psychology, nutrition and injuries are just some of the golf-related subject areas that will be explored. The outstanding sports facilities on campus will help to bring your academic studies to life, enabling you to put into practice what you have learnt in the classroom.

Academic progression:

When you have successfully completed your BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Performance and Excellence in Golf), you can progress on to higher education at Foundation degree or full Honours degree level dependent on your overall achievement. Alternatively, you could go on to study for your Professional Golfers’ Association qualification.
