The course:
The work of the many thousands of people who are employed in public services throughout the UK is vital to the security, public safety, welfare and future development of our society. This course is aimed at students wishing to pursue a career in any of the uniformed public services, including Police, Fire, Ambulance services, any branch of the military and the prison service.
This Level 2 Diploma will provide you with the opportunity to gain a sound knowledge and understanding of what the public services are all about and help to prepare you for public service work. Areas of study include public service skills, career planning, health and fitness and expedition skills. Practical sessions form an important aspect of the course, enabling you to develop skills that are required to work within the uniformed public services. The course will include a wide range of day trips, careers talks, and visiting speakers, as well as a residential study tour.
Academic progression:
If you have successfully completed your BTEC Level 2 Diploma Uniformed Public Services along with a recommendation from your course tutor, you may be able to progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary or Extended Diploma Uniformed Public Services or the variety of sport-related courses available at Hartpury.
