International students (non EU)

You may be coming to Hartpury to study for your future career, to pursue your academic goals, or perhaps you want to experience living and studying in a different country. The team at Hartpury recognises that there may be practical issues or concerns that you will face by being away from your own environment. Be assured, there will always be someone to help, whether on a personal or academic level. From your first enquiry, a member of the International Team will be on hand to offer advice and guidance and, we hope, Hartpury will become your home from home.

Some of the services we offer:

  • A pre-arranged free airport welcome service for all first year students, ensuring you arrive safely with a Hartpury College driver
  • Priority given for on-campus accommodation in designated Halls of Residence (initial booking and deposit is required but part of this is refundable)
  • Internet access in accommodation so you can keep in touch with family and friends
  • English language support (at an additional cost)
  • An Academic Support Tutor to assist with academic matters
  • A wellbeing support team to assist with non-academic issues
  • Cultural awareness visits to UK attractions and cities

English language: You will need to be fluent in English in order to attend lectures, complete assignments and sit examinations. This means speaking, listening and writing skills at a minimum of GCSE grade C, or equivalent. If English is not your first language, you will be required to supply evidence of test results such as IELTS 5.5 for entry on to further education courses. Within your test you must achieve individual scores of at least 5.5 for all four components.

Once you are at Hartpury our on-going support can be provided with English Language tuition (for a small fee) through our Learning Support Department.

International tuition fees: Please contact the International Office for tuition fees for 2012/13. To assist you with your financial planning, the cost of tuition is fixed throughout your period of study. Students on a two-year course will pay the same rate set in year one.

Hartpury College is registered with the UK Border Agency and is a Highly Trusted Sponsor and licensed to recruit and teach students from overseas.

Application process for international students: If you are interested in studying at Hartpury as an international student (non-British Passport holder) under the new immigration standards you can only apply for either A levels, a Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma or a Level 3 Extended Diploma course as long as you meet the entry requirements.

If you would like to apply for a place, you need to complete a Hartpury College International Application Form. This can be obtained either by contacting us or you can download the form from the International section of the website.
