Animal Management (top-up) BSc
(Hons)
This programme is designed for students who have completed an HND or Foundation degree in an animal related subject and wish to ‘top-up’ to an Honours degree.
Studying at Hartpury
The programme will build upon the learning you gained during your previous course. Core modules will provide a ‘backbone’ to ensure all students gain key skills and knowledge. There may also be some optional modules, allowing you to tailor the programme to meet your individual interests and career aspirations.
Teaching on the majority of the modules will consist of a mixture of formal lectures, group seminars or practical sessions, utilising our extensive range of on-site facilities and academic expertise. You will be expected to prepare for sessions by undertaking research around the subject areas.
There is a variety of assessment types used, including oral presentations, poster presentations, written reports, and research projects, as well as exams and assignments. This ensures every learning style is catered for and all graduates leave with a range of skills, as well as knowledge applicable to the workplace. There are also a number of complementary studies courses available on site that you can undertake alongside your studies at a reduced cost. These include first aid, health and safety, animal handling, dog grooming and A.T.V. among others.

Please note that Dissertation, Developments in Animal Science and Applied Business Management are compulsory, as is Statistics & Research Methods, a Year 2 module, unless similar learning can be demonstrated from previous qualifications.

Upon graduation, you will be able to take up positions in a wide variety of occupations within the relevant animal-related industries. Throughout your time at Hartpury you will have access to careers advice and individual tutorial support which will assist you in tailoring your module choices towards a specific career interest. You could also progress on to further study including Master’s and PhDs.
