“I studied a National Diploma in Countryside Management at Hartpury and received triple distinction grades, the top business student and top countryside management student award which gave me the enthusiasm to continue to higher education. I am in my final year of my BSc (Hons) Conservation and Management course and have really enjoyed the variety of modules, the staff are really helpful and there are a good range of facilities for students.”

“It was a long-held dream of mine to work in nature conservation in Britain. Hartpury was appealing because of its rural setting and the interesting modules and I enrolled to study towards a Foundation Degree in Conservation and Countryside Management. As part of my studies I completed three work placements – one with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority – all of which provided me with invaluable experience. The time at college on the other hand gave me a very good grounding in ecology, conservation and rural issues.
“I was very proud to receive a prize at my graduation ceremony recognising all the hard work I had put into my studies and was awarded the ‘Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust Award for Foundation Degree Student showing the greatest contribution to Wildlife Conservation’ prize.
“Since graduating, I have been volunteering with the National Trust in Stroud which led on to a paid temporary position as Assistant Warden. I would love to continue working as a warden/ranger as the job always provides a challenge but is also immensely satisfying.”
