Equine Business Management BA (Hons)

The Equine Business Management programme aims to produce graduates capable of involvement within this highly diverse and thriving industry.

Studying at Hartpury

This programme provides the opportunity to combine pure business modules, developed by the Bristol Business School, with equine business and equine science modules. You will study core business and equine modules and then select optional subjects, enabling you to tailor your degree to suit your needs and interests. Subjects as diverse as Equine Behaviour and Psychology, Estate and Facility Management, Breeding, Nutrition, Therapy and Equitation are also available to study within the programme.

As a BA (Hons) student, you are encouraged to reflect on the theories and principles related to the equine business industry. A period of compulsory work experience between the second and third year facilitates this reflection. During the third year you will complete a retrospective piece of work linked to your work experience. Learning is through a variety of methods, incorporating lectures, work placements, field trips, laboratory-based practicals, seminars, and discussion groups. Relationships with external organisations and professionals also ensure students benefit from a range of guest speakers. You will be assessed via a range of methods, including written examinations, multiple choice questions, practical assessments, oral examinations, written assignments, practical notebooks and seminar presentations. A number of programme- specific initiatives are also in place to support the academic development of students.
