Hartpury has an outstanding international reputation for the quality of its equine programmes, events and facilities. Our equine higher education programmes offer opportunities to a wide range of students. The resources that support the programmes are state-of-the-art and are continually developing. All programmes can be studied on a full or part-time basis, and many include opportunities for work placement within a wide variety of businesses, both in the UK and abroad.

The equine lecturing team have a broad range of specialisms and are enthusiastic in imparting knowledge to keen and willing learners. Research at Hartpury continues to develop with academic staff involved in a range of research projects and collaborative work with other academic institutions.

The time that students spend in the classroom is complemented in many modules with time spent in a practical situation, be that in the laboratory, on the yard or within a discussion/tutorial group session. The academic team believes that practical instruction is an extremely valuable tool and enhances the learning experience of the students. Over 250 horses are stabled at the College, approximately 60 of which are available for students to learn from in an educational environment.

The programmes are designed to help you become a well-rounded student with an excellent depth of academic and practical knowledge and good communication skills. After completion of an equine programme, the career opportunities are numerous and broad-ranging within the equine and animal-related industries.
