Postgraduate degree Programmes
available
All UWE Hartpury postgraduate programmes are run on a modular basis. When you pass a module you get a certain number of academic credits towards the programme of your choice. You accumulate these credits by enrolling and passing modules until you have achieved your programme of study.
- A Postgraduate Certificate requires the achievement of 60 credits,
- A Postgraduate Diploma requires the achievement of 120 credits and
- A Masters degree requires the achievement of 180 credits.
Of course, you can just elect to study a single subject with us, to give you an insight into that particular area. At this point a discussion with a subject tutor would guide you as to whether enrolling on a single module, with assessment, would be appropriate or whether you wish to study simply by attendance.
We have structured our programmes in response to student feedback to facilitate part time as well as full time study. The programmes form recognised qualifications in their own right or can provide a structured route for personalised, postgraduate study.
A Postgraduate Certificate is a part time programme, with modules usually studied between September and May of one academic year. After a Postgraduate Certificate you could elect to progress your studies by enrolling for a Postgraduate Diploma.
A Postgraduate Diploma is typically a full time programme, with modules usually studied between September and May of one academic year. If you have progressed from a Postgraduate Certificate then you would usually study part time (as you already have 60 credits towards the 120 credits total from your Postgraduate Certificate, leaving you only 60 credits to accumulate). After a Postgraduate Diploma you could elect to progress your studies by enrolling for a Masters degree.
A Masters degree is typically a full time programme, with completion possible between September and August of one academic year. If you have progressed from a Postgraduate Diploma then you would usually study part time (as you already have 120 credits towards the 180 credits total from your Postgraduate Diploma, leaving you only 60 credits to accumulate).
