Gardens
At Hartpury College, we have wonderful gardens designed by Thomas Mawson. The gardens are diverse and comprise vegetables, fruit, cut flowers, shrubs, trees and herbaceous perennials. These areas all need lots of care and attention.
There is a need, for extra help, with the maintenance and related horticultural tasks required for the upkeep of the Thomas Mawson designed garden, productive walled garden and glasshouses.
It is proposed that a volunteer group be set up to carry out the above activities.
As well as keeping the gardens to an acceptable level, it will also continue to enhance the College reputation and involvement within the local community and associated groups.
The Hartpury Gardens are a pleasant place to work and a great way of making new friends. It is a chance to learn gardening skills and gain work experience. You could share in the harvest of fruit and vegetables, and even take home cuttings or seed from plants.
You could also take advantage of 10% off the horticultural courses (after achieving a certain number of volunteer hours)
If you, or someone you know, has any spare time and would like to volunteer your gardening skills to keep the gardens tidy, please contact the horticulture team – details below
