Gundog Training (Intermediate)

The course

This course requires that the handler has attended a Novice Gundog Training course and will follow on as a natural progression from the tasks that the dog was asked to perform on that course.

The course runs over 6 consecutive Sunday mornings.

Areas of Study:

• Exercises to develop the control of the dog by the handler
• Handling by voice
• Hand signals and whistle for more difficult retrieving work
• Steadiness whilst working in company
• Water work
• Gun shot
• Entering water

Entry qualifications:

Attendance at Novice Gundog Training course recommended

Additional Information:

Students are required to bring strong outdoor boots, suitable outdoor clothing, packed lunch and drinks. Dog restraint, water and bowl and poop scoop – owners are reminded that their dogs are their own responsibility
