Intermediate Teaching Test days

The course

These days are designed as revision days for candidates wishing to take the BHS ITT exam or for those just wishing to further improve their teaching and coaching skills.

The day will cover the requirements and standards of the ITT. There will be no assessment at the end of this course.

Areas of Study:

The course includes:

  • Teaching of class lessons (flat and jump)
  • Teaching of private lessons (flat and jump)
  • Teaching of lunge lessons
  • Preparation and delivery of lectures
  • Equitation theory
  • Business and yard management
  • Portfolio building

Entry qualifications:

Candidates must be physically fit in order to carry out the selected tasks and topics without undue stress and strain.

Additional Information:

Students are required to wear a properly well-fitted hat to current BSI or Euro standard. A body protector is strongly recommended and is compulsory for any jumping.

Required clothing: Navy sweatshirt, navy or light coloured jodhpurs, dark hat silk, long boots or short boots with leather gaiters (not suede), whip, gloves.
