25+ Work Based Study

Learning whilst you work, either through studying for a qualification or taking specific training, is a great way to fit learning into your life. Work Based Learning will enable you to increase your chance of career growth and your earning potential, raise your level of skills and understanding, boost your confidence and self esteem and put you in touch with people outside your own organisation who have similar skills and aspirations as yourself. In our experience you will probably find that your employer will be very supportive of your decision to undertake further training. Your decision to improve your knowledge and skills will directly benefit the workplace.

If you decide to undertake an NVQ qualification at Hartpury, our team of specialists will visit your place of work throughout the year to assess your practical skills. Our Amenity Horticulture Apprenticeship students generally come onto campus one day a week between October and April. The year of study for our agricultural apprentices is slightly longer - from September to June. We are also very flexible in regards to attendance, as we understand that during busy times at work this may be difficult. Our classroom sessions run on a ten-week cycle, therefore if you miss a specific session you can attend it during the next ‘cycle’.

If you are interested in studying for any of the NVQ’s highlighted please contact our dedicated Centre for Rural Business (CfRB) on 01452 702154, and we will be able to provide you with further information relating to the NVQ you are interested in studying, information relating to NVQ course fees and application advice.
