Apprenticeship in Team Leading Level 2

The course

The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) is the leading UK professional body providing leadership and management vocational training and is recognised by employers throughout the United Kingdom.  The Team Leading apprenticeship is ideal for those who are either relatively new to the role of managing people or who have a functional responsibility which involves some supervision of staff.

The L2 NVQ forms part of the apprenticeship framework and candidates plan a programme of development and assessment in the workplace, with their assessor, and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.

The ILM L2 Award in Team Leading provides the underpinning technical knowledge for the NVQ and this is delivered here at Hartpury College over 4 days, spread over 4 weeks. The course design is a mixture of leadership and management theories, case studies, practical exercises and input which is to be transferred back to the delegates work place.

Functional Skills in number and literacy may also be required for the framework depending on GCSE grades gained in English and Maths.
