Food Manufacture Apprenticeships

Food and Drink Apprenticeships (NVQ Level 2 & 3, FdSc)

To give yourself the best career prospects and earning potential, you need to carry on developing your skills throughout your working life. Apprenticeships and NVQ's give you the opportunity to learn and gain nationally recognised qualifications by combining study with paid, full-time employment.

If you are 16-24 and want a job that guarantees excellent training and money in your pocket, an Apprenticeship could be for you. If you are 25+ there are also work-based options available which will enable you to increase your chance of career growth and earning potential, raise your skill level and your understanding as well as boost your self-confidence.

The UK Food & Drink manufacturing sector is a rapidly changing area, with an annual turnover of £74 billion. This is an exciting time for the food and drink industry, with demand for healthy food and drink growing quickly. The sector has many exciting career opportunities in a wide range of job roles, from production operatives to supervisors.

An Apprenticeship is made up of several qualifications, including NVQ's, which test practical skills, vocational qualifications, which test work-based knowledge, and qualifications in Numeracy and Communications. The new framework for apprentices in Food & Drink covers specialist skills in all sub-sectors of the industry e.g meat and poultry, bakery, dairy industry, brewing and soft drinks production, seafood, fresh produce, confectionery and general food processing - so whichever business you work in, the content can be tailored to suit your needs.
