Entry Qualifications

No formal qualifications are required. Suitability of level of qualification will be discussed during a workplace visit.

Overview

The Food Manufacture course will provide you with all the opportunities available to improve your practical skills and knowledge in various aspects of food manufacture e.g. monitoring & maintaining product quality, food hygiene, health & safety. Most of your assessment will be carried out in the workplace, at a time to suit both you and your employer. You will also have the opportunity to attend other relevant short courses, dependent on your needs e.g. Food Safety, Knife Skills, First Aid.

All students will complete mandatory units in

  • Workplace Food Safety
  • Workplace Health & Safety

You will then select further units from one of the following pathways:

  • Meat & Poultry Processing
  • Butchery Retail Skills
  • Bakery Skills
  • Production Control Skills
  • Distribution Skills
  • Retail & Service Support Skills
  • Operational Skills
