Equine Academy riders represented in Hartpurys Showjumping Spectacular

The Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular starts this week in a three day extravaganza – Jumping with the Stars in the run up to Olympia - at The Hartpury Arena from Friday 9^th to Sunday 11th December.

The competition was a huge success in 2010 and this year will be no exception with the Hartpury team producing an exceptional programme which includes a Small and Big Tour for the top competitors plus a two-tier Amateur Tour.

The event is a run up to Olympia – with world class competitors taking part in the Big Tour including John and Robert Whitaker, Tina Fletcher, Geoff Lucket, Lynne Bevan and Keith Doyle. This will turn in to a real competition when hot on their heels riders Marie Edgar, James Davenport, Sam Hutton and Gemma Plumley push to knock the old guard off the top spots.  Local riders John Daker, Emma Slater, Eric and Lizzel Winter will all brush shoulders with several of Hartpury’s Equine Academy students in the Amateur Tour which includes Remy Ellis, Charlotte Lee, Robert Barker, Rachel Sutton, Natasha Green, Emily Webster, Laila Al-Adwani, Camilla Bongham, Celeste Wilkins, Lauren Herbert and Emma Crossley.

The skill of the course designer will test the competitor across various courses and riders will demonstrate a broad base of training to enable their horses to jump clear under pressure.  The climax for the Big Tour will be on Saturday and the Amateur Tour final on Sunday.  Tensions will be high as the competitors ‘battle it out’ to win the large money prizes on offer.
