Feeding your Horse for
Winter
The course
We all want to ensure our horse/s remain healthy. This course will explain to the novice or experienced owner, how to feed according to your horse’s specific requirements.
Areas of Study:
- Introduction to the course
- Theory – the digestive system, rules of feeding, types of feed, when to feed, how to feed, what to feed.
- Practical – on the yard, in the feed room, looking at horses and calculating feed rations.
- Theory – Feeding according to the work done – competition horses and special requirements, supplements and additives.
- Practical – on the yard, looking at horses and designing feed ration
- Discussion, Questions and Answers
Entry qualifications:
None.
Additional Information:
Students are required to bring warm, wet weather clothing, gloves, riding hat to the current BSI standards, Notepad and pen, short shoes or boots.
