What I do: I am currently a soccer coach working at Success Academy Charter Schools in New York City, USA. I came to America in 2009 on a football scholarship where I completed both my degree and my Maters at Cumberland University in Tennessee. Before moving to New York, I also owned and directed my own soccer academy for two years, working alongside youth players in the Middle Tennessee area.
How Hartpury helped to get me there: Having developed me as a football player in a number of ways, Hartpury College essentially laid the groundwork and set the bar for my academic achievement which allowed me to succeed in ways I could not have imagined before. The BTEC course introduced me to content and academic structure of the highest level which ensured that I was fully prepared when moving into the university setting. The entire college culture is geared towards producing professional athletes and students who can flourish in any environment. Hartpury set the stage and offered me the opportunity to perform at the highest level both in the classroom and on the football pitch. Without the support and expertise of the lecturers, coaches, players and staff members that I interacted with during my time at Hartpury, I’m sure I would not be where I am today.
