High praise for quality of student experience at Hartpury

Hartpury has received a very positive report from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) – the independent body that monitors standards and quality in UK higher education.

Following the review, which took place from July 14th to 16th, 2014, QAA reported on the quality of the experience that Hartpury offers students – from first-rate learning opportunities and teaching to listening to and acting on the student voice and boosting career prospects.

Overall judgements:

• Maintaining academic standards of awards meets UK expectations
• Quality of student learning commended
• Quality of information produced meets UK expectations
• Enhancement of student learning opportunities is commended

Areas of good practice highlighted:

• Effective and widespread involvement of employers in curriculum design and development
• Varied and highly effective at engaging students as partners
• Extensive range of work placement and volunteering opportunities which enhance employability skills and career prospects
• Strategic approach to staff development with extensive range of opportunities
• Engagement of staff in research and positive impact this has on the student experience
• Involvement of students in the design and development of information for current and prospective students
• Comprehensive range of support and resources provided to all students to enable them to develop personally, academically and professionally
