With our 360-hectare estate as your classroom there is no better place to develop your career in the outdoor adventure industry or as you progress towards the entrance tests for the public services. 

While 100% of our Outdoor Adventure students have gone on to further study or employment in recent years, our Uniformed Public Services students have gone on to a range of careers in the Fire and Rescue Service, as nurses and paramedics, in the Armed Services, with the Police and in the Prison Service.

You’ll have access to the excellent outdoor adventure centres based within the local area with activities including sailing, paddle sports, windsurfing, mountain biking, navigation and climbing to name a few.

These courses will give you a detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Outdoor Adventure, complemented by industry-recognised qualifications.

Our strong links with the outdoor adventure industry also mean you will have the opportunity to gain work experience in the second year of the Level 3 programme.

There is intense competition for entry to uniformed services and Hartpury will help you to stand out by building confidence and preparing you mentally and physically for the entrance tests that most uniformed public services jobs require.

Our Courses

On all of our Outdoor Adventure courses, you will study and develop practical skills in a variety of outdoor sports and learn about assessing risk, environmental education and leadership. You’ll have the chance to lead outdoor and adventure activities and gain expedition experience, as well as gaining professional qualifications in addition to your Diploma.

Our Uniformed Public Services courses will give you an understanding of the features and careers of each uniformed public service and the expectations they have of serving members of the public.
