We offer you excellent practical hands-on learning opportunities with our large and varied animal collection of exotic and domestic species.

Course Overview

Our full-time two-year Animal Science Diploma is the equivalent of 3 A-levels and great for you if you want to pursue careers or further study in:

  • Veterinary medicine
  • Biovetinary sciences
  • Animal sciences
  • Animal nutrition

We're currently working with a leading Vet School to ensure that students are offered a guaranteed interview to study veterinary medicine with them subject to achievement of the required grades at GCSE and in specific units.

6 GCSEs at grade 6 or above to include English, Mathematics and Science

  • Business Management in the Animal Sector
  • Animal Nursing
  • Farm Livestock Husbandry
  • Zoological Animal Health and Husbandry

This course will include a range of different assessment methods, including written exams.

During this programme, you will be expected to undertake a block of work experience allowing you to gain valuable knowledge in practical industry live situations.

On successful completion of this course and a suitable reference from a tutor, you will be able to progress on to a Foundation degree or Honours degree (subject to entry requirements).

Almost 50% of our Animal Science Diploma graduates pursue their dreams of becoming a vet, progressing onto veterinary medicine degrees at the Royal Veterinary College, the University of Nottingham and the University of Bristol (Hartpury 2019). Many love Hartpury so much that they choose to move into veterinary nursing and animal science degrees at Hartpury University.
