Hartpury College

Dreaming of a career in veterinary medicine?

Our new Animal Science course can give you the grades you need to go to a top university and the experience of working with animals to help you stand out from the crowd when you apply!

If you want a career working with animals, our new Animal Science programme provides the perfect preparation for going on to study veterinary medicine, surgery and science at university. And we still have limited spaces available for September 2016.

You may have already chosen to study for your A-levels, but did you know that a BTEC Level Extended 3 Diploma in Animal Science is the equivalent of three A-levels?

It can give you the points you need to your chosen university and give you practical and work experience with animals that will help set you apart when you apply.

Plus, as a student on this programme, you’ll be offered a guaranteed interview to study veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, London (subject to you achieving the required grades).

You will also complete a Practical Skills Portfolio (small animal, farm and equine) to support your application to Vet School. And for those wishing to progress to study Veterinary Medicine, you will be given support for their BMAT (Biomedical Admissions Test)

It will give you the knowledge, skills and understanding you need to progress on to further veterinary and animal science study, plus our large and varied animal collection of exotic species, horses, small animals and domestic species of livestock at Home Farm offer excellent practical hands-on learning opportunities. We even have a new dog agility arena!
