Take George Boulton (pictured) for example. Hailing from a farming family, George wanted the opportunity to play rugby at the highest level while indulging his passion for agriculture.
He’s achieved his dream, running out for England Students – one of more than 100 rugby internationals Hartpury has produced in the last 10 years – as well playing a starring role for Hartpury RFC in National League One. He’ll graduate this year with a degree in Agriculture and is now starting out on his career as a lecturer, as well as using his new skills and knowledge to benefit his family farm. At Hartpury, we’re skilled at supporting elite athletes to balance their academic and sporting commitments, and putting them on the road not only to professional contracts but also a career beyond sport.
Our students have gone on to some fantastic careers in a wide range of industries and enjoyed some exceptional work placements all over the world, helping them open doors to their dream careers. You can read our students’ stories here
