Why study this course?
The Pre-Medicine course is designed for those wishing to pursue a career in Medicine. It is run by a former Medical School Research Fellow as an addition to the study of AS Levels and is designed to prepare students for applying to study Medicine or degrees allied to Medicine, such as Nursing, Biomedical Sciences or Medical Research.

You will develop debating and decision-making skills crucial to a medical career as well as practical dissection skills.
What can you do with this course?
This course will prepare you for applying for and getting through an interview at Medical School, as well as providing some of the fundamentals of a career in Medicine or professions allied to Medicine, such as Biomedical Science, Medical Research, Physiotherapy and Nursing. Course Overview. Topics covered include BMAT & UKCAT tests, applying for Medical School, medical research and medical ethics, as well as
talks from medical doctors on Medical School interviews, medical career structures and pathways, and general practice. Hands-on experience includes regular dissection sessions, as well as work experience, with the programme culminating in a trip to Cardiff University Medical School research laboratories.
