Equine Science and Management
The Cert HE Equine Science & Management programme offers an excellent introduction to equine-based higher education and a flexible approach to studying at Hartpury. Modules on this programme are mapped against the BHS Horse Knowledge and Care syllabus up to stage three. Timetabling makes it suitable for mature students balancing life and career commitments. It is also an ideal opportunity to gain a higher education qualification for those who progressed into employment in the equine industry directly following completion of A-levels or Diploma study.
Students will have access to a range of facilities via the modules they can choose from. As part of successful completion of the Cert HE, students will be required to complete a module which necessitates a period of work experience on the Hartpury Yard for one week, in both the first and second semesters. Successful completion on this module ensures students are capable of working to the highest possible standard in industry. Students must also successfully complete an anatomy and physiology module. Additional module topics include
- Facilities management,
- Veterinary science, and;
- An overview of the equine industry.
In order to see the facilities and meet the staff to discuss your options you are invited to attend any of the university open mornings. Timetabling and other queries can also be directed to the programme leader via firstname.lastname@example.org
At the end of the Cert HE programme we can facilitate completion of continued further study to gain a full foundation degree. This option is open for discussion with the programme leader.
