ILM Level 6 Award in Management
This qualification is aimed at middle to senior management who are established in their careers and have significant supervisory experience. You will probably already hold a Level 5 management qualification as at Level 6 you will be building on that qualification.
The route to the Level 6 Award is not via the traditional method of attending set training course days. This is very different. To achieve the qualification you will have to submit two written assignments based on your own supported self- research. These have to be completed within fourteen months from commencement of the qualification. Over the fourteen months you will attend an initial induction and orientation day at Hartpury College followed by five half-day tutorials, again at the College, where the trainer will guide and support you to complete the assignments.
This is an ideal qualification for those destined for Senior Management or Director positions who need Continuous Professional Development and need to confirm their management and leadership style and competence.
Assignment 1) - Developing the Executive Manager
After collecting information based on management performance , this is about critically assessing yourself against several significant management and leadership theories and using this information to design and implement an enhanced development plan for yourself.
Assignment 2) - Critical Thinking and Research Skills in Management
This is about choosing and critically assessing an influential theory on Leadership and undertaking research to show the relevance to your own current role in your organisation. This is very much about dissecting a published management or leadership theory and comparing it against other theories and then against yourself.
Delegates will have, in addition to the tutorial support, full access to Hartpury College’s Library and Learning Resource Centre. Access electronically to publications will also be made available.
27th October 2016 to 25th October 2018 (course duration 18 months)
