Course Overview

Failure in hygiene in any food business can have a devastating effect on you and your reputation.  In 2006 it became mandatory for all UK food handling operations to obtain the HACCP system approach. Under EC regulation, food business operators are responsible for ensuring that adequate training in the application of HACCP principles is delivered to their relevant members of staff.  This course will equip you with the knowledge and understanding to enable you to build a systematic approach to eliminate / reduce the risks of any hygiene hazards.

Course areas:

This qualification will cover the concepts of HACCP and an understanding of and the ability to apply HACCP principles practically in food and food related businesses in order to ensure effective food safety. Holders of this qualification will be able to demonstrate:

• The principles and terminology relating to HACCP

• The relationship of HACCP principles to practical situations

Entry Requirements


Level 2 in HACCP is appropriate for all persons employed in food and food related businesses who should have an understanding of HACCP. It is particularly useful for those involved in the implementation and maintenance of HACCP and individuals who are, or intend to become, members of HACCP teams.
