Level 2 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Teaching

Course Overview

The Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate is designed to reflect the activities of those who provide direct support for teaching and learning in any type of school – primary (including foundation stage), secondary, special or pupil referral units. They cover the role of teaching assistants and have been broadened to include new roles and responsibilities such as providing displays, exam invigilation, supporting extra-curricular activities and others.

The Level 2 qualification is aimed at those who are new to the role and whose responsibilities are limited in scope. It is expected that the levels of decision-making required and work carried out would be tightly defined by the teacher.
