Course Overview

The Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate is designed to reflect the activities of those who provide direct support for teaching and learning in any type of school – primary (including foundation stage), secondary, special or pupil referral units.

Who should attend?

The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those who have some autonomy in the role and have a varied range of responsibilities and some opportunities for decision making – being overseen, rather than led, by the teacher. It is expected that a Level 3 candidate would have responsibility for implementing agreed planned programmes of work; managing and preparing resources; and providing support to learners requiring particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
