Equestrian sports are one in which Britain is highly successful on the world stage and is one of the few sports in which women and men compete on equal terms. Olympic medals are competed for at three different disciplines – Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing. Some would say that Eventing is the ultimate test of horse and rider – comprising of three disciplines – the elegance of Dressage the bravery of Cross-Country and the precision of Show Jumping, the scores from each test combine to produce the overall athlete.

Over 2.4 million people ride horses in Great Britain each year, the British Horse Society membership is 65,000 plus 39,000 Riding Club members and 38,000 Pony Club members and British Eventing has 12,000 members. Did you know that Eventing holds the record for the largest annual sporting event in Europe as 200,000 spectators will attend Badminton Horse Trials?
