French International Event Rider, Astier Nicolas, completed his BSc in Equine Management as Hartpury's Eventing Scholar in Academic year 2010-11.
He stabled his three international eventers at Hartpury and competed at national and international events up to CCI4* level including Luhmuhlen in Germany and Pau in France.
Following his graduation from Hartpury Astier won Bramham U25's CCI*** and was also long listed for the London Olympic Games. Following his victory at Bramham Astier said "The training and support that I received at Hartpury was second to none and so professional and it has played a huge hand in my horse's performance and management....now I see the results! I will always be grateful to Nick [Burton] & Corinne [Bracken] for their coaching and guidance that has got me where I am today".
Academy Director Nick Burton said "We are obviously thrilled for Astier. He is a very dedicated and talented rider and we are very proud of his continued success".
Astier is currently based the UK in South Gloucestershire at Nick Gauntlett’s yard, he came 9th in Badminton this year aboard Piaf and 3rd at Bramham with Quicky.
