Sophie attended Hartpury from 2005-2008 and studied for a BA Equine Business Management.
Speaking about her time at Hartpury, Sophie says, "When I first attended Hartpury I was competing at BE Novice level, achieving pretty average results. During my time at Hartpury I was selected for the Equine Academy which took me from strength to strength. After trials and plenty of extra training sessions I was selected to go to the European Championships, something I would never have dreamed of when I first arrived at Hartpury."
Sophie then applied for the Regional Foundation Training Programme, which has the goal of being a stepping stone for riders on to the World Class programme. After selection and trials Sophie was accepted onto the programme, and now receives regular training and advice. Sophie says, "This season I have completed three Advanced competitions with Seaboy, who is going from strength to strength. I also have a three year old that I have broken who is being aimed at BYEH next year, and a five year old who will be aimed at BE100 classes to start the season."
