The Equine Therapy Centre is overseen by Dr Kathryn Nankervis B.Sc. M.Sc. CVPM. Kathryn studied Physiological Sciences at Newcastle University and Equine Science at Aberystwyth University.
Kathryn set up the centre and has been instrumental in its development since opening in 1999. In 2005 she received the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management awarded by the Veterinary Practice Managers Association. She is co-author of ‘Equine Exercise Physiology’ (Blackwell Publishing) along with Dr. David Marlin. Kathryn’s current research projects are with European Technology for Business Ltd, Zamar and the Animal Health Trust. She lectures on equine therapy and exercise physiology at Post Graduate level, including contributing to the M.Sc Veterinary Physiotherapy programme based at Hartpury College. She enjoys competing, mainly in dressage and tries to practice what she preaches by staying fit enough to run the odd half marathon.
