Canine Hydrotherapy

We are pleased to announce that Cotswold Dog Spa are now in residence within the Equine Therapy Centre’s complex here at Hartpury.  Their dedicated canine hydrotherapy team hold weekly clinics on-site and are able to offer the following services:

Water Treadmill The treadmill has many benefits both as an aid to rehabilitation and to cross train performance dogs.

Physiotherapy Qualified animal physiotherapists are available by appointment to give a full consultation & treatment programme for your dog.

Hydrotherapy Pool COMING SOON - Swimming has numerous benefits both as an aid to rehabilitation and to increase confidence in a safe water environment.

Canine Hydrotherapy & Rehabilitation

Cotswold Dog Spa provides rehabilitation for injured dogs with the aid of hydrotherapy.  Trained staff will guide you through the rehabilitation process, be it post operative care or conservative management. Cotswold Dog Spa have extensive experience with dogs with a wide range of conditions, from hip dysplasia and cruciate surgery to degenerative myopathy and spinal trauma. They are also ideally placed to advise regarding additional complementary therapies such as acupuncture or chiropractic treatment.
 
The hydrotherapy team work closely with your vet and physiotherapists; be that your own or one of our network of associates in the local area.  In many cases, the combined application of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy will accelerate recovery.  We can arrange combined sessions or can contact your physiotherapy directly to discuss the treatment plan for your dog.

Fitness swims
Hydrotherapy, both pool & treadmill, can be used successfully to cross train performance and working dogs, such as gun dogs and agility dogs. We also undertake sessions of 'puppy swims'  for dogs who need to gain confidence in the water in a safe and monitored environment.

About Us:
The staff in control of your dog’s hydrotherapy session are NARCH (www.narch.org.uk) registered Canine Hydrotherapists (RCH) meaning that often insurance companies will pay for necessary treatment. Please check with your provider for exact cover. In every case, rehab or fitness, we must obtain written permission from your vet, which will be obtained directly.
