New title sponsor announced for 2011 Hartpury International Horse trials

Hartpury College is delighted to announce that NAF are the new sponsors of their International Horse Trials! So put the date in your diary, the 11th – 14th August 2011, and make sure you join us to watch equine sport at its best,
you' ll be treated to a mix of CCI*, CCI** and CIC*** competition.

Director Janet Plant said: "We are privileged to have NAF as title sponsor to our most prestigious event. They have supported Hartpury College in many ways over the last two years, the team at NAF are a pleasure to work with, their
products are outstanding and this partnership is a win win benefit to eventing."

This is the ninth year of the International Horse Trials at Hartpury, now established as a firm favourite amongst competitors in the Eventing calendar; providing four days of outstanding equestrian sport. Always attracting big names, in 2010 Mark Todd won the CCI**, with Piggy French and Andrew Nicholson each taking a CIC*** section, while Helen West emerged the winner of the strong novice field in the CCI*.

This year' s cross country course is well underway; the turf in the park has been on a high maintenance all spring with a mulching, mowing regime which in current conditions will give the going every chance to be even better than last year. Designed by Eric Winter, the course will challenge competitors and delight spectators.

The spectacular Equine Indoor Arena and Outdoor Complex, surrounded by an appealing trade stand village sets the perfect setting for two days of dressage and show jumping.

With over three hundred horses performing during the competition, the event will not only offer you a great spectacle but is set to be a great social occasion for all with the opportunity to 'shop-to-you-drop' and sample some excellent
local food and wines.

Says Tracey Lloyd, Sponsorship Manager for NAF, "We are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious International event as Hartpury. It draws riders from Novice level all the way through to Advanced, which is important to NAF as we are great believers in supporting equine sport at all levels. We acknowledge that so many eventing competitors are loyal users of our products and this sponsorship gives us an opportunity to show our appreciation and to support those who support us. We have been keen to support British Eventing in a similar way to how we support the other equine disciplines. Now, as title sponsors of the NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials we have
achieved this aim. We and the Hartpury team are looking forward to the 11th - 14th August 2011, we hope to see you there!"

Equestrian Sport at its Best!

This year sees the return of the Hartpury Horse Trials for the 9th year.  Starting as a CCI* and CCI** event in 2002 and then in 2006, expanding to include CIC*** the Hartpury Horse Trials have gone from strength to strength, missing only one year in 2007 due to the great Gloucestershire floods. The International Hartpury Horse Trials has established itself as a firm favourite amongst competitors in the Eventing calendar; providing four days of outstanding equestrian sport, including a weekend packed full of top Cross Country competition, two days of dressage and two days of show jumping as well as a great social occasion for all! The Burghley Dubarry Young Event Horse Series will start the week off on Wednesday 10th August, providing enthusiasts with the opportunity to spot world-class event horses of the future.  In addition to the eventing action, there will also be the opportunity to 'shop-till-you-drop' in the Trade Stand Village and sample some excellent local food and wines.

Hartpury provides a magnificent setting for this all round test of horsemanship; with top international course designer, Eric Winter, designing a Cross Country course that will challenge competitors and delight spectators. The spectacular Equine Arena Indoor and Outdoor Complex provides the perfect setting for the Dressage and Show Jumping phases of the competition.

The event has attracted big names over the years including the likes of Zara Phillips, Oliver Townend, William Fox-Pitt, Bettina Hoy, Mark Todd and other world renowned stars of Eventing.
