Senior Secondary certificates of education, which meet the matriculation requirements of universities in Australia: AQF Certificate IV, AQF Diploma.

Capital Territory

Further Education: 
Year 10 Certificate (Equivalent A*-C at GCSE)

Higher Education: 
Tertiary Entrance Statement along with the University Admissions Index (UAI) and ACT Year 12 Certificate. Students must also pass at least five subjects (3 majors and 2 minors; 4 majors and 1 minor; or 5 majors or more) of which at least 3 majors and 1 minor must be at tertiary accredited level.

New South Wales

Further Education: 
Year 10 Certificate  (Equivalent A*-C at GCSE)

Higher Education: 
Higher School Certificate is required to be considered together with the University Admissions Index (UAI).

Northern Territory

Further Education:
Junior Secondary Certificate (Year10) issued by the Northern Territory Board of Studies

Higher Education:
Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) together with the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR)

Queensland

Further Education:
Year 10 Certificate previously Junior Certificate  (Equivalent A*-C at GCSE).

Higher Education: 
Queensland Certificate of Education to be considered together with the Overall Position (OP).

South Australia

Further Education:
Certificate IV

Higher Education:
South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) to be considered together with the Tertiary Admissions Rank (TER), and a Tertiary Entrance Score (TES). Tertiary Entrance Rank (from 1997) a score of 88.20 or more should be obtained.

Victoria

Higher Education: 
Victorian Certificate of Education Study Score (VCE) alongside the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).

Western Australia

Higher Education:
Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE) to be considered together with the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).
