Some of Hartpury’s sports teams will be looking to carry their pre-Easter form over the holidays, while others have a reason to celebrate, as the sporting season begins to draw to an end.

The Under-19s football first team have a home quarter-final to look forward to after securing a 3-0 win over Ten Football Academy in the last 16 stage of the ECFA National Championship play-offs, while the junior second team secured the ECFA West Midlands Cat 2A League title with a 1-0 win against Walsall College firsts. The junior thirds were also in action before the Easter holidays and they secured top spot in the ECFA West Midlands Cat 2C League after drawing 2-2 with Henley College Coventry first team.

The university rugby third XV thrashed Cardiff Medics second team 66-17 in the BUCS Western 1A League to finish in third place, while the Under-18s thirds beat Henley College seconds 31-24 in a friendly. The Under-18s fourth XV ended their AoC League campaign on a high as they defeated Loughborough College first team 76-0.

Hartpury’s golfers have numerous national finals to look forward to after the holidays as the A and B team produced a strong showing in the final round of the British Schools and Colleges Tour qualifying stage to book their places in the final showpiece. The A team finished top of both the gross and nett divisions respectively, while the B team finished in third place in both competitions. The Hartpury duo of Rowan Warren and Nick Ramshaw shared the honours in the individual event as they both shot a level par round of 70 to finish in a tie for first place, while Frankie Lin finished one shot behind in third.

Last, but by no means least, the junior netball second team secured the AoC League title with a 50-8 win over Worcester Sixth Form seconds as they ended their campaign with a perfect record.
