Students are happier at Hartpury than ever before, according to the latest results of the National Student Survey (NSS).
The NSS 2014 shows that student satisfaction at Hartpury has risen again to 84% - up from 82% in 2013 and up 7% since 2010-11. That’s also significantly above the national average for comparable institutions.
Twenty areas have shown an increase, with the biggest jumps in student satisfaction within the areas of teaching, assessment and feedback and organisation and management.
Staff at Hartpury are good at explaining things – that’s the view of 95% of students – compared to a sector average of 89%. Students continue to feel that tutors and lecturers make the subject interesting, that they get the right amount of advice and support with their studies and that their course is well organised.
There was an impressive 100% overall satisfaction rate for students on the BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare course who responded to the survey, and satisfaction rates were high across the board – in Equine, Sport and Animal and Land.

“It’s hugely rewarding to know that students here really value the quality of teaching and the advice and guidance they receive from all staff to ensure they can reach their potential and make the most of their time with us.”
It was also revealed recently that Hartpury students get more value from their university degrees than any others in England and are given the best possible chance of getting their dream job.
The University of the West of the England – which awards Hartpury degrees and postgraduate qualifications – came top in England for ‘added value’ in the Guardian University Guide. It also jumped 15 places to make the top 50 UK universities for the first time.
